    Hello all,

This is my first post here and was hoping you could me with the following.

I love antique prints and actually have some framed in my house. Was thinking to broaden my knowledge on the subject of antique prints with the idea of buying some antique books and taking out the prints to frame/ collect and/ or re-sell.

There seems to be so much information on the subject that I'm kind of overwhelmed and don't know where to start...

What would be a good source to start learning about the various old printing techniques?

    - Can you recommend me a book that covers this subject?
    - Where should I start looking for my first book of prints?
    - How much should I pay for a quality antique book?
    - What subjects do you recommend (botanic, nature, geography, people?)

Thanks all for your comments and help, it is much appreciated!!

    it is all about knowledge.

the best subject to start with is one that interests you!

when i started i did an art course in printmaking, this is the best way to start, i wasn't very artistic but i learned all about different techniques and what they look like.... this is key to any future success, you will struggle to learn this kind of info from a book as it is about actually having contact with items, not looking at examples in a book.
