I have a set of 24 small (4 1/4" x 5 3/4") lithographs depicting the life of an 1840's French dentist named George Fattet in a colorful and humorous manner. They were designed by Edouard Pingret and lithographed by E. Mandouce in Paris during the 1840's. They are encased in a box designed to look like a leather-bound book and are in very good condition. I know they are rare. I am thinking of selling them but I have no idea of their value. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks. Doc L.

are they for sure from 1840?
George Fattet was a dentist character in the book Les Miserables by Victor Hugo - the only thing is the book wasn't written until 1862!
are they hand colored or printed in color?

Pingret was a true-life dentist in Paris in the 1840's and Pingret did many charicatures of him in the 1840's. All I can say is they are chromolithographs, the case is cardboard covered in red morocco with a well-tooled and gold-stamped brown leather spine. I'm going to see if a friend of mine can post the pictures for me. Doc L.
